- Eccentric, claustrophobic, boding, stifling, it’s the uniqueness of the book which leaves you a sense of unease while pushing you to read forward. It reminds me of a escape room game called “Cube Escape”, the soundtrack of which is a perfect match of this novel!
- 短小精悍,us against the world,挺扭曲的,又苦涩又幸福的故事。
- 3.75/5 Jackson's last novel is also my first taste of her writing.Castle is a fantastically crafted story about isolation/insanity, teeming with taut tension, queer atmosphere, oddball characters and quiet yet stomach-wrenching drama. She brings to life the true horror of living in an socio-economically split town without resorting to paranormality
- Bow all your heads to our adored Mary Katherin!
Shirley
- Not that bad of a Halloween read.
- a creepily effective horror novel full of magical whimsy and the bond of sisterhood (?)
- [English version] It hit me after closing the book. Dark, mysterious and twisted. The story of how the two pathologically codependent sisters became a folklore. Written from the perspective of Merricat, the story compels the readers to connect the dots themselves while presenting the world in a young, innocent and truly fascinating voice. [1]
- Poor strangers have so much to be afraid of.
- The afterword is worth reading. The Lottery
- I guess my expectations were set up too high?! Not a bad read at all, but not even close to THE LOTTERY (obviously lol)
- Shirley Jackson
- Where have you been?
- A masterpiece. Short and sharp!
- 太拖沓了but still a delightful reading experience
- Bow to May Kathrine or U will be dead!
